Job Description:
· We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled and experienced Data Center Manager to lead the critical operations of our data center infrastructure.
· The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our data systems, which are vital to our public health mission.
Requirements:
· Oversee all daily operations of the data center, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and power/cooling infrastructure.
· Ensure the physical and operational integrity of the data center. Implement robust security protocols, manage access controls, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
· Develop and execute long-term strategies for data center capacity planning, upgrades, and modernization. This includes evaluating new technologies like cloud integration and virtualization.
· Create, implement, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to guarantee data availability and minimize downtime in the event of an emergency.
· Manage the data center budget, including capital and operational expenses. Liaise with vendors and contractors to ensure optimal performance and cost-effective solutions.
· Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform regular audits to maintain high availability and efficiency.
· Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and network infrastructure including cabling, protocols, and security.
· Familiarity with data security, disaster recovery protocols, and regulatory compliance
· Understanding of power distribution, backup systems (UPS), and cooling infrastructure.
· Experience in planning, executing, and managing IT projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in data center management, with a proven track record of managing complex IT infrastructure.
